Responsible Consumption and Production

Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant and diverse megapolis, home to close to 2 million Malaysians. While this is the case, each individual has a role to play in promoting sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources in the city. The KLCH as well as each resident is in the position to ensure sound management of all waste throughout its life cycle and enforce the reduction of waste generation that starts from home to schools, local businesses, large corporate venues such as hotels and all the way up the chain.

Kuala Lumpur targets 45% of solid waste generated diverted from the landfill in 2030. 952,108 tons of the wastes are generated and 677,090.91 tons of solid waste was disposed Bukit Tagar landfill in 2020
