End Poverty in All Its Forms Everywhere

  • Inclusive economic growth
  • Sustainable Jobs
  • Promote equality

Kuala Lumpur aims to eliminate poverty to improve the living conditions and well-being of its people, which would reduce homelessness, hunger, and malnutrition, increase access to education and healthcare, improve employment opportunities and income levels, and create a more equal and prosperous society for everyone to thrive.

Kuala Lumpur Overview SDG 1

Kuala Lumpur has made significant progress in achieving SDG 1 through poverty alleviation programs, policies to increase access to housing, healthcare, and education, and promoting inclusive economic growth. However, there is still work to be done, particularly among certain marginalised communities, and the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for continued efforts to reduce poverty and inequality. To achieve this goal, it is essential for the government, civil society organisations, and the private sector to collaborate and develop new approaches to address the root causes of poverty and ensure that everyone in Kuala Lumpur can access necessary resources and opportunities.
