The Zero Plastic Campaign programme by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall is an initiative to reduce the use of single-use plastics and promote the adoption of sustainable alternatives in the city. The programme aims to address the issue of plastic waste, which has become a significant environmental problem in Kuala Lumpur, and promote a more sustainable and circular economy. The campaign involves a range of activities and measures, including awareness-raising campaigns, public education, and policy interventions, aimed at reducing the consumption of single-use plastics, promoting recycling, and encouraging the use of reusable alternatives. The programme has also been working with local businesses, institutions, and community groups to promote the adoption of sustainable practices and encourage the development of a circular economy for plastics in the city.
