Urban Housing@ Jalan TAR is an affordable housing development project located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The project is a joint initiative between the Kuala Lumpur City Hall and several private developers, aimed at providing affordable housing options for low-income families and individuals. The development features modern and sustainable housing units, designed to provide a comfortable and healthy living environment for residents. The units are equipped with energy-efficient appliances, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and other eco-friendly features, helping to reduce energy and water consumption and minimize the environmental impact of the development. The project also includes amenities such as parks, community centers, and recreational facilities, providing residents with access to social and cultural opportunities. The Urban Housing@ Jalan TAR project is an important initiative to address the issue of affordable housing in Kuala Lumpur, providing an opportunity for low-income families and individuals to live in safe, comfortable, and sustainable housing.
Kuala Lumpur City Hall has established 2 blocks of urban housing along the Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (TAR) as a pilot project aimed to help the lower-income B40 group who are either single or just started working in Kuala Lumpur for the first time. The housing will be rented out to those working within the 25 km radius of the housing blocks. Renters are charged RM 100 per month as the rental rate.
