Deep Dive: Session #1

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) #1 Deep Dive Session was held at the SDG Center @ Kuala Lumpur on 25 February 2021.

URBANICE Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Norliza Hashim shared her expertise in enhancing local action capacity for SDG implementation.

The workshop brought together more than 30 guests from various backgrounds including YB Senator Tuan Jaziri Alkaf Abdillah Suffian and delegates from the Malaysian parliament, NGOs, youth groups, implementing agencies, students, the private sector and interested individuals.

The presentation included an introduction to the SDGs and the 2030 Development Agenda, as well as measures that the SDGs can be integrated into Malaysia's planning and policy through Malaysia SDG Cities.

URBANICE Malaysia has explored various SDG localization models, such as local consultations and needs assessment workshops, capacity building for local officials, as well as online learning platforms on the SDGs.
